Trapezium Rule

This resource guides the learner to use the area of a trapezium, and then two trapeziums to estimate a shaded area, leading to the derivation of the trapezium rule formula. The learner must then apply the formula (a table method is used) for an estimate with 5 strips. A third page of the worksheet considers whether the estimate is an under- or over-estimate and what is required to get a better estimate.
