Are you making the most of Casio training and support?

A top priority for us at Casio Education is helping all users—teachers and students alike—get maximum benefit from our products.
One way we do that is by constantly updating and refreshing our range of resources, training materials, and support tools.
If you’ve never explored all the free help you can get from us, you might be surprised by what’s on offer.
Focused training sessions
Our training programmes are designed to show how the functionality of our calculators can be applied as efficiently and advantageously as possible.
For example, our introductory fx-CG100 training offers a practical look at the applications of our most advanced graphic calculator by presenting them in the context of a typical A-level exam question.
It also showcases some of the most commonly used features of the handset, such as its graphing and equation-solving tools.
There’s lots of flexibility in how you can attend these sessions. You can book a slot for your whole department or, if it’s a challenge to get everyone together at the same time, reserve an individual space at an open school training event.
The latter option also gives you the chance to meet and interact with professionals from other schools.
Coming soon: Specialist statistics training
Once you’re comfortable with the fundamentals of your calculator, you might be interested in going a step further with training that zeroes in on a specific part of the curriculum.
We’ve developed dedicated statistics training that demonstrates some of the many ways the fx-CG100 can support your teaching and bolster student understanding of this topic.
Here are just a few examples of how the calculator’s functionality can be applied in this realm of mathematics:
- Graphing bivariate data and calculating regression statistics
- Visualising and analysing probability distributions in Distribution mode
- Calculating correlation coefficients
Our statistics training could prove particularly useful if you want to make the most effective use of the fx-CG100 when teaching the A-level Applied Statistics module.
More webinars on the way
We supported the recent upgrade of our ClassWiz scientific calculator range with a series of webinars, which proved a big success.
Off the back of these well-received events, we’re happy to confirm that we’ll be hosting a wider variety of webinars in the future.
If you’re thinking about introducing graphing technology in your classroom but have some questions, the ‘Why Go Graphic’ webinar is for you. It will cover key points including the suitability of the fx-CG100 for different levels and types of teaching, and the most significant differences between this calculator and the fx-991CW.
We’re also very excited about our Topic Deep Dives series on the fx-CG100 which will be coming soon. These sessions will focus on the application of calculator techniques and strategies to specific topics, with exam-style questions for A-level, IB and GCSE Further/Additional Maths to provide some context.
More information is available on our webinar page.
Expert ClassWiz support
We’ve been busy producing as many resources as possible to support the relaunch of our ClassWiz range and to help you and your students maximise the value of our scientific calculators.
What’s particularly noteworthy about these materials is the fact that many of them were developed in close collaboration with former teachers and experienced education professionals.
For example, Joely Fashokun, who has taught secondary school maths and currently lectures in maths at the University of Brighton School of Education, worked with us to produce five new teaching resources dedicated to our upgraded ClassWiz calculators.
These assets are intended to improve the fluency and proficiency with which you and your students can use the updated handsets.
Available to download for free on our ClassWiz support page now, they’re available in two formats: PowerPoint for classroom teaching and as printable worksheets for use in class or at home.
It’s also been great to see some teachers creating their very own resources, without any involvement from us at all. Claire Clay, Lead Practitioner for Maths at Ormiston Academies Trust, has put together a collection of key skills and functionality information cards for the fx-83/85GT CW, which you can access for free on Google Drive. In our online resources centre, you’ll find a ClassWiz quickstart guide, a collection of videos on transitioning to the new handsets, and various other materials to help you and your students get the best out of these devices
